Evernote Opens It’s API

Published by sbostedor on October 15th, 2008 - in Blog Post

Evernote announced today that they are opening up their API to third party developers!  This is going to be awesome for calendering and to-do apps both in the cloud and on the computer.

According to Evernote, here’s what happened:

- Service: Released developer API
- Mac and Windows: Enabled client scripting
- Mac and Windows: Enabled full XML import and export of notes and notebooks
- Windows: Added the ability to preview PDFs inside notes
- Windows: Improved note tagging

Evernote is a website with accoumpanying apps that allow you to capture screen clips, audio notes, text notes, and photo notes to a virtual notebook in the cloud.  The iPhone app companion makes this an even more powerful solution.

For example, you can snap a picture of a white board or presentation using your iPhone and Evernote will scan the image for text that is recognizable.  Later, you can search for text that is in that image and your image will be in the list of things returned!
