Palm Treo 755P – My New Toy
I got sick of my Verizon phone dropping calls and getting poor signals so my Wife and I dropped by the local Sprint store and signed up with them. I chose the Palm 755P Treo because it had just about everything that I was looking for. The only question was Windows Mobile or Palm OS.
I went with the Palm OS because it has more applications and I’m already familiar with the interface and how it works. The phone is awesome. You can view the list of features here.
I wish that I could say that it was all trouble fre but I did run into an issue that I’m still struggling with. It comes with a feature called Sprint TV. You can access it from the touch screen icon and it delivers streaming TV over the wireless Internet. When I try to launch it, I get an error: “Application Error. We regret this inconvenience. Please try again later.”
I found a back door deep link to the menu on the Sprint TV and if I click that, it works fine for me. It just won’t open if I try to get in the legit way. I’m fine with this hack but I know that Sprint is going to find out about it soon and close the door on it.
The Sprint support is supposed to call me back today to help me with the issue but after 3 hours of dealing with them yesterday on it, I’m not optimistic.
All-in-all, I’m very happy with the phone and with the quality of the Sprint service. If they can just get the Sprint TC thing working, it’ll be a 100% successful switch.
