Midas in Jackson Michigan Tried to Scam My Mother
The windshield wipers on my Mom’s 2003 Azteck stopped working the other day. She said that this happened a few other times but started working again if she let the car warm up.
Today, she took it in to this Midas on Clinton rd. in Jackson Michigan for an estimate because it stopped working again. This time, they wouldn’t budge no matter how long she left the car on for.
They did an analysis of the car and told her the bad news. It would cost her $400 to have them fix the problem. They said that the motor was “fried” and that was the only fix. My Mom doesn’t have much money and this threw her (and us) into a tailspin!
After thinking about her symptoms for a few minutes, I started to get upset. It occurred to me that the symptoms that she described didn’t fit well with the diagnosis at Midas. On a hunch, I grabbed my wife’s hair drier and headed over to her house.
Just as I suspected, here is what I discovered when poping her hood:
The windshield wipers were frozen in place! After 20 minutes pointing a hair drier at this frozen popsickle, the windshield wipers were freed and working perfecly!
The employees at Midas should be ashamed of their unprofessional attempt at scamming my Mother! I think that everyone should boycott their business after reading this story!
